Obituary of Maria Isabel Avila

Maria Isabel Avila, 73, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, to join her husband, Hilario Avila, Sr. in eternal life.

Mrs. Avila was a lifetime resident of San Benito, Texas, born on December 27, 1950.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Margarita Machuca; her husband, Hilario Avila, Sr.; son-in-law, Placido Lopez, Jr.; grandson, Hilario Avila III; brothers, Florestino (Juanita) Machuca, Jose Maria (Amelia) Machuca, Israel (Marcela) Machuca; sisters, Maria Elena Piñon, maria Delia Mercado, and Rosalinda (Reynaldo) Rodriguez.

Left to cherish her loving memory is her daughter, Criselda M. Lopez, son Hilario (Brenda) Avila, Jr.; helped raised, Maria Isabel Mercado and Maribel Mercado; grandchildren, Adamari Sophia Avila, Yovani Manuel Avila, Joshua Noah Garcia, and Paula Jewel Garcia; brother, Manuel (+Oralia) Machuca, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Cirildo Piñon and Javier Mercado; best friends, Alicia (Lechoni) Garcia and Hortencia (Tencha) Salazar. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S. Bowie St, with a burial to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
