"Where Caring Makes The Difference"
Obituary of Scarlett Mae Ortiz
In loving memory of Scarlett Mae Ortiz, who peacefully passed away in her home, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, September 15, 2024 in Los Fresnos, Tx.
Scarlett Mae was born on January 13, 2018 in Brownsville, Texas, to Amanda Virginia Martinez and Hector Ortiz, Jr. She was raised by her aunt, Krystal Martinez and uncle, Marco Rodriguez, and was cared for by her grandma, Rafaela Martinez. Scarlett brought endless joy and happiness to our families, friends, doctors, nurses, therapists, and anyone who met her. Scarlett made a positive impact in a lot of people’s lives because of how resilient she was during her toughest times. She was the strongest 6 year old warrior that we have ever known and fought until her last breath. Her smile could light up an entire room. If you were having a bad day, just being in her presence would make you forget about the negative parts. She loved listening to Mickey Mouse, Disney Lullabies, Taylor Swift, and watching La Rosa de Guadalupe. She enjoyed sitting outside when it was a nice day, sitting by the door when it was raining, car rides, and listening to other children laugh and play around her. One thing that was always mentioned about Scarlett when she met someone new was how defined her eyebrows were, how fair her skin was, how long her eyelashes were, and how beautiful her hair was.
Scarlett Mae Ortiz will forever be remembered and loved by her parents, Amanda Virginia Martinez and Hector Ortiz Jr.; her legal guardians/aunt and uncle, Krystal Marie Martinez and Marco Antonio Rodriguez; her big sister, Alice Rae Lozano; her little sister, Riolu Amayah Ortiz; her little brother, Hiro Zaccai Ortiz, and her stepmother, Ashia Yahiada Crockett. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Rafaela Martinez and Leslie Stephen Martinez; paternal grandparents, Rocio Ortiz and Hector Ortiz. Scarlett leaves behind her aunts and uncles, Leslie Stephen Martinez Jr, Seth Martinez, Roberto Ortiz, Carolina Ortiz, and Uriel Ortiz. She also leaves behind numerous great aunts and uncles, cousins, and great grandparents.
With Scarlett’s passing, we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her everyday, especially her captivating smile, she will forever remain in our hearts and spirits.
