Our Heavenly Father called His beloved daughter, Maria Oralia “Yaya” Reza, to His kingdom on Sunday, August 4, 2024. She was 86. She was a devoted wife and beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Yaya was born in 1938 in San Benito, Texas to Hilario and Florencia Garcia. She married the love of her life, Jesus Reza, and together they raised three sons. Yaya had a long career in retail, retiring at JCPenney. Yaya loved to talk and laugh with everyone and enjoyed making people smile. She was a devout Catholic and made many trips to the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus “Chuy” Reza; father, Hilario Garcia; mother, Florencia Garcia; and brother, Jesus Garcia. She is survived by her three sons; Ruben and wife Celia, Robert and wife Gloria, Rick Reza; grandchildren, Ruben R. Reza and his wife AnnMarie, Roxann Reza Hayford and her husband Brandon, Racine Reza Lewis and her husband Shawn, Randy Reza and his wife Desiree, Rachelle Reza, Robert Ray Reza II and his wife Felisha, Ryan, Maverick, and Trey Reza; and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas.
