Obituary of Eloisa Sanchez Delgado

Eloisa Sanchez Delgado, 92 from Los Fresnos, Texas met with her Lord and savior on Wednesday July 24, 2024, in McAllen, Texas. Eloisa was born December 31, 1931, in Los Fresnos, Texas to Liberato Sanchez and Micaela Torres. Eloisa attended school in Los Fresnos and graduated in 1950. She was working in Brownsville until she met and fell in love with Luis Delgado from Port Isabel. Eloisa and Luis were married on March 26, 1953, in Brownsville, Texas. Afterwards they moved to Corpus Christi where Eloisa worked as an accountant for Bakers Shoes. Also, while in Corpus, Eloisa and Luis welcomed their children into the world, Jorge Luis Delgado, and Norma Lee Delgado Espinoza born July 15, 1956. Eloisa started her career as a teacher’s aide with the Los Fresnos ISD, when she and Luis moved back to the Valley in 1970. Eloisa then retired from LFISD in 1992. After her retirement, Eloisa devoted much of her retirement years caring for many children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and several extended family children; all of which benefited from the love, grace, and wisdom of Eloisa. In 2001, Eloisa moved to McAllen, Texas to live with her daughter, Norma. While living in McAllen, Eloisa enjoyed gardening, travelling, and took a special interest in collecting trinkets, especially crystal. Eloisa is survived by her children Jorge Luis Delgado (Melba Delgado), and Norma Delgado Espinoza (Enrique Espinoza); her 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 2 sister’s, Estella Hawkins (Bruce Hawkins d.2022) from Baytown, Texas and Ernestina Rodriguez (Roque Rodriquez) from Rio Hondo, Texas and 2 brother’s, Salvador Sanchez (Juanita Sanchez) from Los Fresnos, Texas and Uvaldo Castillo (Irene Castillo) from Copperas Cove, Texas. She is also survived by her very beloved chihuahua’s, Sapphire and Topaz. Eloisa is now reunited with her loved ones: husband, Luis Delgado (d.1989); her parents, Liberato Sanchez (d.1976) and Micaela Torres (d. 1967); younger sisters, Sara Sanchez (d.1949) and Eustolia Sanchez Martinez (d.2023) (Braulio Martinez d.2019) and her adopted brother Jose Garcia (d.1996). Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
