Cecilia S. Rodriguez, 85, of Los Fresnos, TX passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, TX. She was born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico, in 1939 to Rito Silva and Amor Silva-Rodriguez. She is predeceased by her husband, Francisco Coronado-Rodriguez, her parents Rito and Amor Silva Rodriguez, her siblings Eulalia Saldana, Virginia Hernandez, Lupita Zavala, Salvador Silva, and her grandsons Blas Rodriguez, Jr. and Elias Aron Rodriguez. She is survived by her siblings, Manuel Silva, Augustin Silva, Rito Silva, and Evangelina Cardenas; children, Francisco Rodriguez (Melba), Rita Margarita Rodriguez, Diana Cavazos (Antonio), Lourdes Silva Rodriguez, Jesus Silva Rodriguez (Ofelia), Antonio Rodriguez (Terry), Blas Rodriguez (Catalina), Mary Lou Gonzalez (Ruben), Ester Wright (Daniel), Cecilia Senteno (Alfonso) and Elias Silva Rodriguez (Aida). In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Christopher Ray Rodriguez, Dominique Rodriguez, Mark Anthony Rodriguez, Veronica Quintanilla, Lorena Quintanilla, Sandra Uresti, Alejandro Cavazos, Jesus Jaime (JJ) Rodriguez, Samantha Marie Rodriguez, Michael Andrew Rodriguez, Nathandiel Rodriguez, Rebekah Gibney, Katalina Rodriguez, Cecilia Anissa Gonzalez, Clarissa Cristina Gonzalez, Danielle Rene Wright, Mia Nicole Wright, Matthew Isaiah Senteno, Marcus Ilias Senteno, and Maximilliano Antonio Rodriguez. Our mother was a devoted stay-at-home mom who loved her children unselfishly and tenaciously. She was never afraid to be a mother who put her foot down to teach us from right from wrong and to make sure we did our best. She was the rock to this family, and we will miss her more than words can express. The love and memories we shared will give us the strength to carry on. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church, 9178 Tomas Cortez Jr. St, Olmito, TX 78575 with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Cemetery.
