Lupez Mendoza, Jr., 43, of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Lupez was born in Harlingen, Texas on December 15, 1980, and was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. In his early years, Lupez, “Meme” the name most called him, grew up in San Benito and graduated in 1999 from San Benito High School. Later in life, Lupez moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he resided for the past fourteen years working in the food industry. Lupez was creative, witty, enjoyed listening to music, loved cooking, and spending time with his family & friends. Lupez touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His infectious laughter, generous spirit, and compassionate heart left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Lupez was a beacon of light to everyone who knew him. He was devoted to his family and friends, and his presence was always a source of joy. Lupez’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to those he cared about. We await the day we meet again, hearing his infectious laughter throughout the heavens. Lupez is preceded in death by his father, Lupez V. Mendoza, paternal grandparents (Felix & Genoveva Mendoza), maternal grandparents (Antonio & Carmen Gonzales), his uncle (Juan Gonzales), and two beloved cousins. He is survived by his mother, Otilia Gonzales, and siblings: Margaret Ortiz (Candido), Maria Rodriguez (Alfonso), Milly Jimenez (David), Melissa Mendoza, Melinda Mendoza, Otilia Chavez (Luis), twin brother Lupe Mendoza (Dajana), Joaquin Mendoza, Marlene Mendoza, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Lupez’s life will be held at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 3:00-9:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Chapel service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home, with an interment to follow at San Benito Memorial Park.
