It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Ramon Castillo, our beloved father and grandfather at the age of 68. Ramon was born on March 8th, 1956, to Carmen Castillo in Brownsville, Texas. He resided in Los Fresnos and loved his Alma Mater the Los Fresnos Falcons. Once a Falcon, always a Falcon. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and spending time outdoors sitting in his front yard socializing with his neighbors. Ramon leaves to mourn his son, Mauro Castillo (Esmer) of Rio Hondo; his daughters, Laura Castillo (Jaime) of Pflugerville, Maria del Carmen Castillo (Carlos) of Brownsville, Maribel Garcia (Rod) of Pflugerville, Francis Castillo of Fort Worth, and Janie Castillo (Mark) of El Paso; 14 grandchildren; his siblings, Martin Castillo (Ana), Juanita (+Ruben) Garcia, Andres (Agapita) Garcia, Eva (Joe) Salazar, Raul (Leticia) Garcia, Mary (Joe) Rodriguez, Patricia (Jorge) Castillo, and Ramon (Karen) Garcia, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Maria del Refugio Castillo; his brother, Ezekiel Garcia; his mother, Carmen Castillo; his father, Ramon Loredo Garcia, and his grandparents, Enedino and Francisca Garcia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 606 W. Ocean Blvd, Los Fresnos, TX with interment to follow at Los Cuates Cemetery.
