Anabel Guillen, 51, of Port Isabel, TX passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Anabel Guillen was born in Harlingen, TX on March 11, 1973, to Reyes Vicente Guillen and Maria Nora Ochoa. Anabel attended school in the Port Isabel area and graduated from Port Isabel High School in 1991. She then enrolled at The University of Texas in Brownsville and graduated with her associate’s degree. Anabel played many roles during her life but was most proud of being an amazing wife, a great mother and a loving grammy. She is preceded in death by her father, Reyes Vicente Guillen; 2 brothers, Hector Guillen and Ernest Grienier; 2 nephews, Adrian Guillen and Ernest Grienier, Jr.; and a niece, April Grienier. She is survived by her spouse of 20 years, Ruben Valdez of Brownsville; 2 children, Karena Caye Bennett (Martin Cantu, Jr.) Port Isabel, TX and Louis Eugene Bennett (Ashley Elaine Ramirez Bennett) of Port Isabel; her grandson, Landen Alexander Gonzalez also of Port Isabel; her mother, Maria Nora Guillen of Port Isabel; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary reading at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A procession will depart from Thomae-Garza Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. for Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St, Port Isabel, TX at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
