Carlos Martinez Rodriguez, 76, of San Benito, TX, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, at Harlingen Medical Center. Carlos was born on November 2, 1947, to Victor Rodriguez and Leopolda Martinez Rodriguez. Carlos is preceded in death by his wife, Estela Galvan Rodriguez; 2 sons, Porfirio and Mario Rodriguez; parents, Victor and Leopolda Martinez Rodriguez. Left to cherish his memory is his long-time companion, Sylvia Ford; son, Carlos G. (Michelle) Rodriguez, Jr.; daughter, Herlinda Diaz; and daughter-in-law, Maria Anita Rodriguez. Also, siblings, Victor Rodriguez (Delfina), Daniel “Danny” Rodriguez (Sylvia), Angel Rodriguez (Lydia), Francisco Rodriguez (Margaret), Antonia Nino, Juanita Ochoa, and Enedina “Nina” Ramos; grandchildren, Alex, Andy, Joe Jr., Nunila, Carlos, Nathan, Porfirio, Mario Jr., Zelina and Star. In addition, he is survived by five great-grandchildren, Zavaiah, Sierra, Victoria, Cloe and Maverick. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. in care of Pastor Angel Rodriguez at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Cemetery in San Benito, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Juan Tovar, George Tovar, Amanda De Leon, Danny Rodriguez, Angel Rodriguez, Joe Diaz Jr., Nathan Diaz, and Carlos Diaz. Honorary pallbearer is Zelina Rodriguez.
