Sofia F. Sanchez, 90, reached her eternal rest peacefully at Sun Valley Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Harlingen, Texas on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Sofia was born and raised in San Benito and was one of 4 children born to the late Jesus and Candelaria Flores. She was the wife of the late Juan B. Sanchez. Sofia was preceded in death by husband Juan B. Sanchez and son, Juan B, Sanchez Jr. She is survived by her son, Jose M. Sanchez, daughter-in-law Dina Sanchez, daughter Sylvia Lopez and son-in-law Pablo Lopez: 6 grandchildren Alicia Alafa, Jose M. Sanchez Jr., Gabriela Garcia, Griselda Lopez, Juan D. Lopez (JD), Pablo Lopez Ill (PJ); 10 great grandchildren: Bianca Sanchez, Alyssa Garza, Olivia Sanchez, Adam Sanchez, Alayna, Alafa, Ayden Alafa, Aleya Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Sophia Garcia, Natalia Garcia; great-greatgranddaughter, Lucia Sanchez Mendoza; along with countless nieces and nephews and family friends who were blessed to have known her. Sofia was a devoted and loving family woman. She enjoyed nature and had a great sense of humor. Her memory as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will forever live in our hearts and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S. Bowie St, San Benito, TX with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Cemetery.
