Jose G. Jaramillo, 66, of Los Fresnos, TX passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Harlingen Medical Center. He was born and raised in Los Fresnos, TX. Jose was a generous and kindhearted person. He was a member of the Los Fresnos Lions Club and gave a lot of his time taking special needs children to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville for many years. He also spent most of his time with the Los Fresnos FFA Chapter helping and giving advice to the students with their projects, including his granddaughter, Melissa. He enjoyed taking trips and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fulgencio and Aurora G. Jaramillo; son, David Alan Jaramillo; brother, Fulgencio “Jr.” Jaramillo, and his sister, Olivia Sanchez. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Lynne Jaramillo; his sons, Jose “Joe Lee” (Irma), Michael James (Jennifer), Mario Luis, and William Anthony; sister, Adelaida (+Leo) Garcia. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren, Nathaniel S., Christopher J., Melissa Denise, Damon Jae and Malia Rose, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 606 W. Ocean Blvd., Los Fresnos, TX with interment to follow to Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, TX. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joe Lee Jaramillo, Willie Jaramillo, Michael Jaramillo, Euselio Lopez, Isabel Jaramillo, Fred Serna and Jorge Garcia.
