Obituary of Brian Kent McCameron
Please share a memory of Brian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brian Kent “Kenny” McCameron, age 62, passed on to his final reward this past Saturday -
February 24, 2024.
He was born 1962 in San Diego, California to Edward Lee and Gaye Lynn McCameron. After he
graduated from Pan American University with a major in Biology and a minor in Business-
Economics, he started working for his father’s company, Mac’s Insulation, which recently
reached its fiftieth year of successful business.
He took great pride in running his business with integrity and empathy. As he made his trips up
and down the Rio Grande Valley, he would happily point out buildings that his company had
insulated. One of his greatest joys was receiving compliments from customers that the
company’s work was a piece of art. The reputation of Mac’s Insulation extends beyond the
Valley, and reaches up even to Corpus Christi, Laredo, San Antonio, and beyond.
He was generous to a fault - always giving second, third, and fourth chances. His immense
compassion was only matched by his wisdom and wit - the latter of which was sometimes too
immense. His family, friends, and colleagues all considered him a source of stability and
dependable advice. His laughter and sense of fun was infectious.
His greatest love was spending time with his family. Whether it be family reunions, watching his
children’s performances, dressing up for Halloween or the Renaissance Festival, or playing with
his grandkids. He always kept himself busy. As some family members said - he was an
accomplished van customizer, excellent fixer of busted water lines, installer of floors, repairman
of walls, as well as a casual enjoyer of carpentry and metalworking. He was a true
jack-of-all-trades. He was loved so much and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gaye Lynn McCameron, his siblings Billy
Keith and Janie McCameron, and his grandparents, Troy and Pauline McCameron.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years of marriage and 50 years of loving each other, Araceli
Dillian McCameron; his son, Dillon Troy McCameron (wife Maria) and their four children: Emilia
Lynne (4), Julia Rose (2), Lucia Isabelle and Dominic Augustine (two months); his daughter,
Christian Nicole McCameron; and his older brother, Edward Lee “Chug” McCameron Jr.
(wife, Sandy).
