Irma Martinez Rivera, 71, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024.
She was the oldest daughter of 15 children. Irma helped her mother and father by taking care of her brothers and sisters. Her family was her treasure, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her jewels. She loved every single one with a fierce, unconditional, powerful love that will live on forever. “Grandma”, “Mima”, “Tia Irma”, and “Sister” were some of her very popular titles. She was the kindest, most loving, bravest, strongest, smartest, most beautiful soul ever. Irma made us all smile and laugh like no other. She loved dancing, singing (Los Laureles was her favorite), watching her grandchildren play sports or at musical events, working on wordsearches and puzzles, spending lots of time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Celso Martinez Jr. and Magdalena R. Martinez, her grandson, Nicolas Demin Rivera, mother-in-law: Esther T. Rivera, father-in-law: Florencio Rivera Sr., brothers; Salvador Martinez, Arnulfo Martinez, Orlando Martinez Sr., and Cornelio Martinez, sisters; Elvia M. Torres and Hilda Martinez.
