Maria Irma Camacho Perez (Mema), 75, of Port Isabel, Tx. entered eternal rest on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Valley Regional Hospital in Brownsville, Tx. Mema was born to Alfonso Camacho and Maria Garcia Camacho of Port Isabel, Tx. She was a loving selfless person. Mema was the cornerstone of her family, with the passing of her mother at a young age she put her life on hold to help raise her younger siblings. She then got married and traveled around Texas raising her two beautiful daughters. In her later years Mema was again called to help raise her grandson Maximus. She truly was a loving mother in her Savior's eyes, she will be deeply missed and remembered as one of a kind. She has lost her earthly wings but has received her golden wings in heaven. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Perez Sr. Parents: Alfonso Camacho and Maria Garcia Camacho, her 3 brothers: Juan Jose Garza, Santiago Camacho, and Ismael Camacho, her sister-in-law Maria Eugenia Camacho, and 2 brother in laws: Felipe Lopez and Monte Hoogerhide. Left to cherish Mema's memory are her daughters: Terry Garza (Nicholas Paul Behrens Sr.) and Esmer Garcia (Jesse Edward Chavez Jr.), her grandchildren: Jessica (Jonathan) Hyde, Troy (SueAnn) Garza, Cassie (Jeremy) Hyde, Nicholas Paul Behrens Jr. and Maximus Perez, her great grandson: Zachariah Jesten Hyde, and her siblings: Alfonso (BettyJean) Camacho, Francisco Camacho, Bernardo (Sylvia) Camacho, Mario (Carmela) Camacho, Janie (Nestor) Lopez, Mares Camacho, Diana Hoogerhide, Sara Lopez, Pete Camacho her sister in laws Maria Luisa Camacho, Diana Perez, and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service officiated by Pastor Steven Hyde at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas with cremation to follow in accordance with her wishes.
