Abel Rodriguez, 89, of El Ranchito, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Abel was born September 13, 1934, in El Calaboz, TX to Aniceto and Maria B. Rodriguez. A loving father to seven children, Adan, +Minerva, Abel Jr., Concepcion (Billy) Johnson, Rene, Maria Luisa (Eleazar) Muñiz, and Alex. Abel and his wife, +Rosa, shared a beautiful life together where they raised their children and grandchildren. He worked for Erving Amasteel for many years retiring in 1998. He loved talking to friends and family. Abel enjoyed listening to his favorite corridos and loved watching his favorite game shows. He is survived by 18 grandchildren, Joshua Avila, Adam Jr., Emilio, Xavier (Adan), Rosita, Maria, Daniel (+Minerva), Davinna, Brianna, Cain, Roman, Envy (Maria), Emilio, Jose Jr., Jessie, Ruben (Rene), +Savannah (Concepcion), and Jozlynn (Alex). In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Josefina, Aniceto Jr., Alejandro, Lupe, Pola, Maria, and Juanita. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, parents, daughter Minerva, and siblings, Maria Rebecca, Pedro, Raul, Elva, and Estela. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 9. 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 24380 US-281, San Benito, TX. with interment to follow to Torres Family Cemetery.
