San Benito/Kerrville,TX- Jesus "Chuy" V. Gaona, 90, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Edgewater Nursing Center in Kerrville,TX. He was born December 12, 1921 to the late Felipe and Refugia Ventura Gaona in a little ranch named La Parrita Ranch in San Benito. Jesus served in the Army Air Force Corp during WWII and was honorably discharged. He worked for the San Benito School District for 20 years before moving and working for the Houston School District for 10 years and later retiring. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great -great grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Refugia Ventura Gaona; wife, Andrea Martinez; sibilings: Victor Gaona, Rodolfo Gaona, and Soila Reyna Perez; and stepson Raul Gomez. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Maria Alicia (Guillermo) Guerra of San Bentio, Yolanda (Nicolas) Gonzales of San Benito, Lamberto Hinojosa of Ohio, Maria Irene (Samuel) Lopez of Center Point,TX, Guadalupe (Hermerejildo) Benavidez of San Antonio,TX , Jand ose De Jesus Gaona of Houston,TX. Jesus is also survived by his brothers and sister: Rogerio (Lolita) Cortez, Gilberto (Irma) Cortez, Inez (Rebecca) Cortez, Lupe (Guadalupe) Cortez, Rebecca Barrientos ,and Carmen (Paulino) Huerta. Also surviving him are his 37 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as a host of numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 10 AM to 9 PM with a prayer service to be held at 7 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10 AM at Templo Lirio de los Valles, 305 Winchell in San Benito, with internment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
