Antonia Rodriguez was born on August 24th, 1947, in Falfurrias Texas to Maria and Ramon Arredondo. She was the youngest of 4 daughters. Eventually, she and her older sisters: Esther, Lydia, and Rachel would accompany their mother from Falfurrias to Los Fresnos and finally to San Benito where she would graduate from High School in 1966. It was in San Benito in 1967 where she would meet the man she was destined to marry, Cruz Rodriguez. In 1968, they married and settled in a small apartment in San Benito to begin their journey together. She had a love for numbers and worked at the iconic San Benito Bank and Trust Co for a spell, as well as dabbling in the healthcare field working for doctor Harrop's family practice in Harlingen. Finally, she, along with her husband founded their very own business, Satisfaction Homes Construction. She ran the financial aspect of the business while her husband did the physical and social side of the work. She had her first child Jose Cruz Rodriguez Jr in 1968 and gave birth to her last son Ricardo Rodriguez in 1975. She juggled her duties as a mother and as a successful businesswoman with ease while at the same time continuing her spiritual growth in the faith she was raised with. Antonia lived a life rich with friends and accomplishments and was lucky enough to have visited many countries and cultures in this world. On October 18th, 2023, after a long battle with cancer, Antonia Rodriguez died peacefully at the age of 76 at home surrounded by her family. She touched a lot of lives and will be sorely missed by those who knew her and loved her.
