Luisa Gonzales, 74, of Lozano, TX passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A beautiful, faithful daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Luisa Gonzales was born in San Benito, TX to Jose and Emilia Sifuentes. She met the love of her life, Benito Gonzales, and they were married for 56 years. Luisa loved God, her family, and her friends. She especially loved singing to the Lord as a long-time St. Vincent de Paul choir member. She was devoted to the church and our community. If it was for the church, it was always a yes. Most of all, she loved the Lord. Her faith guided us all closer to God, and she will be greatly missed until we meet again. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Emilia Sifuentes, and her siblings, Jose Sifuentes Jr., Maria Guadalupe Reyes, and Imelda Nieto. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Benito Gonzales. Her children Elisa (Gerardo) Gonzales, Benito Jr. (Celia) Gonzales, Ida (Anthony) Serna, Christy (David) Flores. Her grandchildren Matthew Gonzalez, Christopher Gonzalez, Chiara Serna, Michael Gonzales, Anthony Serna Jr., Alexandra Gonzales, Emily Serna, and Angelica Gonzales. Her great-grandchild Isis Gonzales. Her brothers Jesse Sifuentes, Albert Sifuentes, Carlos Sifuentes, her sister Maria Felicitas Sanchez, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins she loved. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 2513 E. Brown Tract Rd., Lozano, TX 78568.
