Obituary: In Loving Memory of Abel B. Castillo It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Abel B. Castillo, on October 2nd, 2023, at the age of 79. He peacefully departed this world, surrounded by his family. Born on July 20th, 1944, Abel B. Castillo was a loving husband, cherished father, adored grandfather, and dear friend to many. He lived a life full of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reyes Castillo and Lorenza Blanco; his siblings Israel Castillo, Eleazar Castillo, Servando Castillo, Enafael Castillo, Pedro Castillo, Irene Loredo, Abel Castillo, and Ofelia Padilla. He is survived by his wife, Lorena Castillo; his siblings Rufino Castillo, Reyes Castillo, Maria Guadalupe Padilla, Rodolfo Castillo ; his former spouse Blanca Castillo ; his children, Albert (Isabel) Castillo, Abel (Mayra) Castillo, Sandra (Eddie) Castillo, Veronica (Chris) Gonzalez, Hector (Jennifer) Castillo, (Nena Castillo) ; his grandchildren, Britney (Daniel) Guerra, Anthony (Gaby) Castillo, Cidney Castillo, Dyson Castillo, Areli (Hector) Sandoval, Ileana Castillo, Audrey (Ramiro) Alvarado, Dominique Rodriguez, Morgan Castillo, Elliot (April) Rodriguez, Nkosi (Misael) Garay, Kiala Castillo, Hayden Castillo, Jafayth Castillo ; his great grandchildren Olivia Alvarado, Pennelope Alvarado, Aneleya Garay, and Penelope Mae Castillo, Austin Rodriguez ; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Abel’s memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his spirit will forever be a guiding light for his family, may he rest in eternal peace. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow to Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, TX.
