Eliseo Adames, 70, of San Benito, TX passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX surrounded by his loving family and Pastor. Eliseo Adames (Cheyo) was granted his angel wings and his final days were spent surrounded by his family, whom he dedicated his life to. He provided for them, sacrificed for them, but most importantly he LOVED them unconditionally. He was born on October 30, 1952, in Hale County but spent most of his life in San Benito and Rio Hondo. He loved fishing, bowling, and sharing jokes with every single person he met, often shortly after meeting them. Family time was his utmost favorite pastime, especially watching them participating in their extracurricular activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Apolonio P., and Eulogia A. Adames; 3 sisters, Maria Adames, Olga Adames, and Amalia (Jesus) Adames; 5 brothers, Eliseo Adames, David (Petra) Adames, Rufino Adames, Apolonio Adames Jr., and Arturo Adames. He is survived by the love of his life; his wife of 52 years, Maria “Lucy” De La Luz Avila Adames; children, Eliseo (Angie) Adames Jr., Javier (Barbarita) Adames, Belinda (Joe Atkinson) Adames, Alberto (Erica) Adames, and Stevan (Kyleen) Adames. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eliseo (Miriam) Adames III, Phillip (Marcela) Adames, Eloy Adames, Javier (Rhoda) Adames Jr., Christopher Adames, Nathaniel (Damarys) Adames, April Adames, Jewellisa (Axel) Vasquez, Jessica Vasquez, Jesus Vasquez Jr., Jay Vasquez, Josue Vasquez, Melissa Atkinson, Jessica Atkinson, Albert Adames Jr., Bianca Adames, Karissa Adames, and Nathan Adames; 27 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Siblings. Visitation will be held Monday, August 21, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Iglesia Gloria En Gloria, 1233 W Buchanan St., Harlingen, TX 78550 with entombment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
