Aurora F. Mares, 71, of Harlingen, TX passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gavino and Ramona Flores; brother, Antonio Rojas; and sister, Francisca Mendoza; and her little angel grandaughter, Amilia Jade Mares. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Amadeo Mares, Jr.; son, Amadeo Mares III (Anita Garza); daughter, Rebecca Mares (Jaime Roa), and son, Mariano Mares (Cynthia Lopez). In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Sabrina Marie Mares, Briana Nicole Mares, Camila Avie Mares, Jaime Roa, Jr., Ahlizandra Lizette Roa, Amadeo Roa, Noreli Janae Roa, Mariano Amadeo Mares, Caitlyn, Javier, Jaylah; great grandchildren, Marcus Ryan Gasca, Mia Raelynn Gasca. Aurora is also survived by her siblings, Petra Guillen, Maria Velez, Antonia Velasquez, Juan Flores, Ramiro Flores, Cecilio Flores, Gavino Flores, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, August 14, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 12:00 noon at House of The Living God, 104 N. Tamm St., Combes, TX with interment to follow to Ashland Cemetery, 21037 Godwin Rd, Harlingen, TX.
