Ofelia (Nunez) Reyna, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday July 10, 2023. “Ofie” as she was affectionally known, was born on September 2, 1952, to Felix and Maria Nunez in Poblado Anahuac, Tamaulipas. She graduated from San Benito High School in 1973. She worked at Levi's Strauss from 1977 until 2001 and was the President and proud member of the C.I.T. committee at Levi's Strauss. She was a Eucharist Leader and a Confirmation Catechist at St. Benedict Catholic Church. She was an avid softball player and played for Valley-Mart, Levi's and later played for the RailKats before moving to San Antonio. Her pride and joy was her granddaughter, Arielena Giezel Reyna. She loved to take care of her, watch her grow up and see her perform at the theater. She is preceded in death by her father, Felix L. Nuñez; mother, Maria C. Nunez; sisters, Hilda Y. Gonzalez, and Rosa I. Ruiz; brother, Heraclio (Harry) Nunez; brothers in law, Mario E. Gonzales and Francisco Gonzales, Jr.; nephew, Matthew O. Amaya; and niece, Ruby M. Gonzales; nephew, Mario Gonzales, Jr. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Manuel Reyna IV; daughter-in-law, Stephanie A. Reyna; and granddaughter, Arielena Giezel Reyna. siblings, Maria (Mary) I. Gonzales/ (Late Mario E. Gonzales), Leticia Quiroga/(Eleuterio Quiroga), Jr., and Bertha A. Ybarra/(Elias A. Ybarra); Polly N. Gonzales followed by the late Francisco Gonzales Jr., brother in law Manuel Ruiz III, and sister in law Gloria Nuñez. Numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 12, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday July 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S Bowie St, San Benito, TX with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
