Petra M. Guardiola, 94, was born on February 13, 1929, in Donna, Texas. She quietly departed this life Thursday, July 6, 2023, surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her husband Justo Guadalupe Guardiola Jr., sister Enedina Macias, and son Ernesto Guardiola. Petra was a sweet and humble mother and a friend to anyone that welcomed her. Petra enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and especially the beach. She was full of life. It was a blessing that she was with us for 94 years. Mom will be deeply missed. Petra is survived by her children Eliasar (Jean) Guardiola, Anna Maria Guardiola, Noemi (Roman Jr) Rodriguez, Joe (Nereida) Guardiola, Leticia (John) Blum, and Pedro (Noemi) Guardiola. Her surviving siblings are Lucio, Timotea, Guadalupe, Geronimo and Marcelino (Rosa) Macias. Ten grandchildren are Eliasar Guardiola Jr., Amy Guardiola, Stephanie Rodriguez, Alex Guardiola, Felisha Noelia Rodriguez, Roman Justin Rodriguez, Pedro Guardiola Jr., Kayla Guardiola, Jesus Miguel Guardiola, and Elizabeth Guardiola: Twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Eli Guardiola Jr., Amy Flores, Felisha Noelia Rodriguez, Roman Justin Rodriguez, Alex Guardiola, Pedro Guardiola Jr., Stephanie Rodriguez and Jesus Miguel Guardiola. Honorary Pallbearers are Eliasar Guardiola Sr., Jesus Jose Guardiola and Pedro Guardiola Sr. Visitation will be held Monday July 10, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday July 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 351 S, Bowie St, San Benito, TX with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
