Maria De La Luz Rios, 74, passed away on April 29, 2023, at her home in San Benito, TX. She was born Maria De La Luz Dominguez on 7 November 1948, in Harlingen TX, to her late parents Antonio and Maria Irene Dominquez. She met the love of her life, Carlos Rios, in her childhood years and reconnected in 1973. They later married on December 23, 1973, in San Benito TX. Through the 49 years of marriage, they had three children. She is survived by her husband Carlos Rios; her children Cindy (John) Biehle, Juan Carlos Rios, and Paul Anthony (Merari) Rios. She has 5 grandchildren, Hannah Biehle, Jeremias Monatanez, Gabriel Castaneda, Khyrie Gonzalez, and Emery Rios. She will be remembered for her love for plants and animals. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and passing out cards and gifts. She was a passionate person who cared about the well-being of everyone else but herself. She loved her family with all she had. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, 3 May 2023, at 4:00pm to 9:00pm with a 7:00pm rosary officiated by Deacon Catarino Villanueva at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A chapel service will be held Thursday, 4 May 2023, at 10:00am with Deacon Catarino Villanueva at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX with cremation to follow in accordance with her wishes.
