I cannot imagine the pain momma and dadda are going through nor can I presume I can make them feel any better with my words but I would like to make an effort.
I would like to start from when I met you. At that very moment in the elevator of a hospital when you were just a few months old, if any, and not in the best circumstances, I could not have imagined how much you would mean to me. To us. At that time we wouldn’t visit momma often for whatever reason, life I guess. Irrelevant stuff, really. Just excuses. See, I believe that if we want to we can. It’s always a lack of effort because even in the distance there’s a way to stay close. It just wasn’t what we did at the time. A few months later momma moved in right in front of us. We wondered what that would be like because we weren’t “close”. Would we feel out of touch? Would they want us around? I mean all together we have a lot of kids! Would that be a factor? It wasn’t. We started getting together for bbqs, for bday parties, and for holidays. We started getting to know each other, getting to know the kids and we became close. But see, we became close because of you. It was you who was always there. Of course the other kids were too but they were doing their thing while you were always with us adults. That’s how you developed that bond with your tio, your Bro. It was that connection with your Bro that brought us close. Your bro would call you when he got out of work, even if it meant momma would get mad because he woke you up and then you wouldn’t go to sleep. Then we’d take advantage and visit for a few minutes that would become an hour or more. Bro would invite you over for breakfast or momma would invite us over. Or, if momma needed to do something you would stay with Bro. He enjoyed that so much! He would send me snaps of you both laying on the couch watching cartoons or the Leprechaun, you were fearless. He was a bad tio too, he’d teach you words you shouldn’t say and he’d help you get away with that! It was funny because you were tiny. The big kids would’ve definitely gotten in trouble! Lol! Not you! Not you because you just made it funny! You were so witty and so cute! All those phrases you would say, we would just steal because they sounded so cute in your voice! We will miss your essence, all that you were. But we will carry you with us always. I do believe you had a purpose and that purpose was to show us that life is short and we should see the people we love and cherish them. We should make an effort to be with them. I believe you were here for a short time to show momma and dadda the meaning of life and who their people really are. I relish in knowing that you were so loved and so happy and gave us so much joy! We will never forget you, baby and we will love you forever. Bro, Tia and the kids ❤️

Seems like just yesterday we celebrated your birthday or raced in the streets with the toys. We have seen your joy and smile , it was always wonderful to be in your presence. We lay you to rest today and wish you and your parents strength. Until we see you again AJ , we will never forget you!
