San Jaunita V. Naranjo, “Ms. Janie”, 71, beloved mother passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, in Harlingen, TX. She worked for LCS detention center as a correction officer for 15 years prior to her retirement in 2018. Ms. Naranjo resided with her daughter, Nora Lee Naranjo in Harlingen. Janie attended San Benito High School and graduated in 1973. She attended Texas Southmost College in Brownsville. Janie married Antonio Naranjo in 1973. She is preceded in death by her son, Antonio “Tony” Naranjo, Jr.; husband, Antonio Naranjo, Sr.; parents, Ramon Q Vega and Juanita G. Vega. She is survived by her son, Alfredo Naranjo (Maria Soler); daughter, Nora Lee Naranjo; grandchildren, Brandon Lee, Alfredo “AJ”, and Mikayla Stavae; brothers, Ramon Jr., Ruben, Richard Vega; sisters, Rosario, Roga, Rafaela, Rachel, Belia; brother-in-law, Francisco Naranjo and Oscar Naranjo. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, beautiful smile, and caring heart. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music and dearest to her heart, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary/Memorial Service.
