One of the first friends I made after arriving at Los Fresnos in 1973, was Ray McLaughlin. He and I had Ham Radio in common. The two of us were charter members of the Charro Ham Radio Club. After a time, my first wife, now deceased, and I moved away. Many years went by. Then Ray and I again met at a Charro Ham Radio Club, at Brownsville. That last time was great, as always, seeing Ray. He was a fine person and always active in ham radio. While he is now what is called a Silent Key, he is not forgotten.
