Jose Carmen Martinez, 79, of San Benito, went to be with our Lord, on January 2, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Jose was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather. He was hardworking until the end to make sure his family was taken care of. He had and infectious sense of humor that shed laughter everywhere he went. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jovita and Domingo Martinez, and his brother Hector Martinez. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Cira, his children, Jose Martinez Jr. (Gladys), Maribel Martinez (Holvyn), and Anabel Martinez, along with his grandkids, Jenna and Holvyn Montalvo, Uriel Martinez, Samuel Martinez and Immanuel Martinez . Also surviving are his siblings, Rosa, Juana, Antonio, Hector, Enriqueta, Daniel, Christina, Jorge, and Jose (Pepe). He will be truly missed. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Thomae-Garza funeral Home in San Benito, with a prayer service to be held at 7 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito at 10 am, with burial to follow to San Benito city Cemetery.
