Ofelia Lerma Hernandez 85 years of age, of El Ranchito, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022. Ofelia L. Hernandez was born to Catarino and Henriqueta Lerma on March 20, 1937. She married Juan Hernandez on July 13, 1963, at St. Benedict Church. She enjoyed being with her family having gatherings, playing loteria, music and dancing. She enjoyed being outside with nature and planting in her garden. Ofelia was a loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren and is survived by 5 children – Juan Hernandez, Jr. (Norma C. Hernandez), Martin Hernandez, Ramon Hernandez, Maria Magdalena Hernandez, and Mary Jane Martinez; 21 grandchildren and great grandchildren, Alina, Elisa, Martin “Marty” Hernandez (Elizabeth Alvarez) Vince, Jordan, Caitlyn, Jessica, John, Carra, Jonathon, Anthony, Ruby Sosa (Noe Sosa), Miguel, Brian, Evangelin, Selina, River, Janie (Ceasar Flores), Maddison, Camilla, and Ismael. She is preceded in death by her husband Juan Hernandez and son Anastacio Hernandez. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with cremation to follow in accordance with her wishes.
