Alejandro “Cano” Huerta passed peacefully at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas on December 29, 2022. He was born on May 5, 1942, to Paulino Huerta and Guadalupe Rodriguez from San Benito, Texas. He is proceeded in death by both his parents Paulino Huerta and Guadalupe R. Huerta, brothers Paulino Jr., and Jose (Pepe) Huerta, sister Delia H. Garza. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years Fela Ybarra Huerta, his only son Jesus Alejandro Huerta (Adriana Perez), one daughter whom he raised Nelda Ybarra. Two grandchildren Rebecca Lenor Huerta and Alexandro Roman Huerta. One surviving sister Gloria (+Margarito) Huerta and three brothers, Ruben (+Noemi) Huerta, Alfredo (Josefina) Huerta, Horacio Huerta and numerous of nieces and nephews. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Rebecca L. Huerta, Alexandro R. Huerta, Marissa Ann Everett, and Marc Anthony Lopez. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023, beginning at 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1001 US 77 BUS, San Benito, Texas 78586 with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
