Socorro Reyes, 64, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2022. She was a devout Christian, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who came from humble beginnings and was born in Tampico, Mexico on June 27, 1958 to Vicente Cruz and Maria Juarez. Socorro was a Proverbs 31 woman who was passionate about serving others and enjoyed boldly sharing her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. As the foundation of the family, she loved and cared deeply for each one of them with her whole heart and was blessed with the gift of giving. From a young age, she had a strong work ethic. With her husband, she was a co-owner of Reyes Seafood Products and was a vital part of the day-to-day operations which helped establish a successful business. She was awarded a Master’s degree in Theology in 2017 which helped her minister and lead. She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Port Isabel, where she served as the Women’s Ministry Leader. She led the Women’s Ministry by helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through bible studies, various events, and helped form community amongst one another in the church. While she will be missed by her family and the people she served, there is peace knowing she is in heaven through the salvation of Jesus Christ and knowing we will see her again one day. She is preceded in death by mother, Maria Juarez; father, Vicente Cruz; and stepdaughter, Rebecca Sanchez. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years Manuel Reyes Jr., children, Melissa Rosalez (Roel), Stephanie R. Reyes, and Manuel A. Reyes (Alyssa); stepsons Ray Reyes and Daniel Reyes; brother, Conrado R. Cruz, sister, Francis Ponce, and grandchildren, Nathaniel L. Rosalez and Roel Rosalez Jr. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 110 Port Rd, Port Isabel, Texas. The church service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Port Isabel, Texas with interment to follow at Port Isabel Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.
