Obituary of Adolfo Aguilera

Adolfo Aguilera, 90, of Port Isabel, TX passed away Monday, November 14, 2022.
At a young age he began to work as a foreman in the Hacienda Miguel Macias in Chichimiquillas, Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico. He then worked in California as a laborer (jornalero) in the fields. He picked peaches, avocados, and strawberries. He continued to work there for at least four years. He worked at Zimco in Port Isabel for a couple of years painting shrimp boats. He then worked at the Yacht Club as a gardener for more than fifteen (15) years. He then retired to spend time with his family and loved ones. He loved taking care of his garden at home and always wanted to help his family plant trees and plants at their homes. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a hardworking and caring man who always took care of his family until his passing. He would remind his children to behave and be respectful to everyone they encountered. His favorite past time was to spend time with his family grilling and drinking beer.
He was preceded in death by, Francisco Aguilera (Paternal), Manuela Garcia (Maternal), Maria Catalina Aguilera (Spouse), Cruz Aguilera (Son), Luis Aguilera (Son), Unique Nicole Aguilera (Great-Granddaughter), Blasa Cardozo (Sister), and Arculana Cardozo (Sister).

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7 pm. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church, 705 S Longoria St, Port Isabel, TX with interment to follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jesse Aguilera, Bernardo Aguilera, Jr., Jose Antonio Aguilera, Luis Miguel Aguilera, Juan Manuel Aguilera, Jr., Luis Enrique Aguilera, Francisco Adrian Aguilera, Cesar Alberto Aguilera and Christian Aguilera.
