Obituary of Juan G. Mendoza

Juan G. Mendoza, 80 of Los Fresnos, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother and Friend. Juan was a hardworking man from a very young age helping his parents as a migrant farm worker, from the fields of California to a business owner in Los Fresnos, Texas (Park Village Mendoza’s). As a retired business man, he loved traveling spending time with his family away from home. For many years he worked for the Oasis Water Distributor Company. He was a member of the Cameron County Sheriff’s Posse in the 1960’s; Cooking was his love and passion. His children and family were all his treasures. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed one. Through his food, music and laughter he touched the hearts of many and he lived his life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed. Juan was preceded in death by his parents Ignacio and Juanita G. Mendoza. Along with 2 of his Sisters Soledad Martinez and Josefa M. Rayos. Juan leaves behind his loving wife, Socorro P. Mendoza; his children: Juan A. Mendoza, Esteban Mendoza, Carolina Mendoza, Esmeralda Castro Mendoza (Armando), Miguel (Rosie) Mendoza, Ignacio “Nacho” (Rosie) Mendoza, Leticia Navarro Mendoza (Juan), Melinda Mendoza, 23 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Juan is also survived by his siblings, Hermelinda Rodriguez, Santos Mendoza, Angie Cortez, Roberto S. Mendoza, Yolanda M. Garcia and Jose Luis Mendoza numerous nieces and nephews and friends. The family would like to recognize Lindenwood Hospice & Palliative Care, SunGlo Home Health Services, Valley Regional Medical Center and many other medical staff, physicians, nurses and specialists. Thank you for all your hours of hard work and devoted labor. So grateful that you were part of the care team at the end of his life. Visitation will be held Friday, November 11, 2022, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 606 W. Ocean Blvd, Los Fresnos, TX from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Los Cuates Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Anthony, Carlos, Ethan, Ivanna, Julio, Jacob, Miguel, Nacho and Ramiro Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
