Gloria Ramos Serna was born in San Benito, Texas on July 26, 1931. Her parents were Benito Ramos and Calixtra Garcia. She had 3 brothers and 2 sisters. When her parents passed away, she was reared by Edwardo and Consuelo Molve. As she was growing up, she was part of the Molve family and that is how we became such a big family. They were all brothers and sisters and grew up together. She moved to Illinois to work. She worked in a carbon copy factory for 15 years. While in Des Plaines, IL, she met the love of her life, Juan Serna and married him in 1962. Her married name became Gloria Serna. They had one son, Gustavo Serna in 1963. In 1975, they moved back to San Benito and reared her family in Texas. Juan and Gloria were together till her husband passed in 1998. She stayed widowed until her death. She loved all her sisters and brothers and cousins. They were all a very tight knit family which carried on to the next generation. She loved to see her brother and sister when she could. Her hobbies were to watch telenovelas, music, mariachis, and going to the movies. She loved to go out to eat whenever she could with her family. When her husband passed away in 1998, she stayed widowed till the day she died. She was a very independent and strong-willed woman. She will be missed but never forgotten. Bless you mother. Funeral mass will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S Bowie St, San Benito, TX with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
