On August 16, 2022, Yolanda Flores was peacefully called home to the kingdom of heaven at the age of 74. Yolanda was known as “Mama” not only by her children but by her grandchildren, daughter in law and son in laws. The entire family called her Mama. That is because she was truly a mother to everyone, especially to the grandchildren whom she helped raise. She had such a loving heart and sweet soul and always made everyone feel loved. Whenever you walked into her home, she always greeted you with a loving, beautiful smile and lots of hugs and kisses. Yolanda was born in Rio Hondo, Texas and married the love of her life when she was 18 years old. She was a stay-at-home mother who worked hard to raise her four children. She was deeply loved by her husband, Carlos. She was happiest when she was around her children and grandchildren. Yolanda is preceded in death by her only son, Charlie Flores, whose death was almost one year to the date of her passing. She is survived by her devoted husband Carlos Flores, sister Ofelia Cintron, daughters Annette Moya (Albert Moya), Cindy McDaniel (Steven McDaniel), Melissa Flores and daughter in-law Melissa Flores as well as her thirteen grandchildren. The family invites you to celebrate her life by joining them at the Thomae-Garza Funeral Home located at 395 S. Sam Houston Blvd in San Benito, Texas on Monday, August 22nd. Public viewing will begin at 3:00 p.m. and the rosary will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will commence on Tuesday, August 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedicts Catholic Church located at 351 S. Bowie Street in San Benito and will be immediately proceeded by burial services at San Vicente cemetery in Rio Hondo, Texas.
