Guadalupe G. Zamora, a TX native, and U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, entered eternal rest on July 27th at the age of 78 at his residence in Los Fresnos, TX. Guadalupe is an Army Veteran that served from 1967 to 1970. He was a heavy vehicle driver and attained the rank of Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was very proud of his service to our nation, and we were very proud of him as well. Guadalupe Zamora (also known as “Papa leek” by his sons and daughters), was born in Brownsville on June 7, 1944 and raised in both Brownsville and Port Isabel. He grew up with 5 brothers and 7 sisters. He was a natural born carpenter, and one of his many projects included a large front porch of which he was very proud of and spent many afternoons at. He was a commercial fisherman and a Texas history buff, especially of the Alamo. He loved country western movies, boxing, gun shows, pawn shops, la pulga, hunting, fishing, feeding and watching his hummingbirds, and spending time with his family. He especially loved his menudito, cafesito, family fish fries, pork ribs and his paconsito (popcorn). He was very much loved by all his loved ones and brought a smile to everyone’s face. Guadalupe Zamora is preceded in death by parents: Ricardo Zamora and Maria Santos Garza Zamora, brothers: Jose (Joe) Angel Zamora, Ricardo (Riche) Zamora Jr., Arturo Zamora, and sisters Maria Angelica (Chata) Pedraza, Julaina Valdez, and Maria D. “Tila” Valadez. He will be forever in our hearts. May he Rest in Peace. Guadalupe Zamora is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Maria Del Rosario Zamora, and children: son Ricardo Zamora and spouse Abigail Rose, and their children Richie, Skylar Rose, and Anthony Ryan; son Enrique Zamora and spouse Rebekah, and their children Holly Mae, Haiden Sky, Henry Hunter and Hailey Nevaeh; daughter Belinda Zamora and son Mark Anthony Zamora; daughter Leticia Zamora and son Aiden James Flynn, and son Guadalupe Zamora Jr. and his children Ixaya Lizette, Daniel Omar and Christian Alberto; and siblings: Ninfa Z.
