Mary C. Guetzow, 50, a loving mother and grandmother to three beautiful children and one beautiful granddaughter of San Benito passed away Monday, July 4, 2022, at the age of 50. Mary was born on November 23, 1971. She resided in San Benito, TX and was a graduate of San Benito High School. She also received her associate degree from T.S.T.C. in 1998 for Nurse’s Assistant. Mary was adored by her children Clarissa (Claire), Ronald (Ronnie), and Celestino (Blü). Time spent with them were moments she always cherished. Whether it was family gatherings, breakfast in the morning while she is sipping her coffee or while listening and dancing to her favorite Tejano and country songs. Mary has a smile that was contagious. She could light up a room with her laughter. Nonetheless she was a brave and very independent woman. You could go to her anytime you needed to talk or wanted to ask her for advice. She was the mediator of the family when times got tough. She was someone you could always depend on. She was God’s gift to Earth. Mary was preceded in death by her two brothers, Joe and Martin Calderon. She is survived by her three children, Clarissa, Ronnie, Blü; her granddaughter Penélope (“cositas de grandma”), her brothers and sister Janie, Robert, Evelyn and Eduard and her mother Carla (“ama”). Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8th, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9th, 2022, at the Church of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Los Indios, TX at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow to La Rusias Cemetery.
