SAN BENITO - Esperanza C. Diaz, 93 years of age passed away peacefully at her residence early Saturday morning, April 14, 2007 surounded by her immediate family. Mrs. Diaz was born on February 10, 1914 in La Paloma, Texas to Nazario and Adela Hernandez Castillo. She has been a member of St. Benedict and San Ignacio Catholic Church and was considered by her family as being the best wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and sister. Mrs. Diaz was very proud of her children's musical talent, they were known to her as "Los Tequileros" with her daughter Concepcion as their lead vocalist. She is survived by 3 daughters; Concepcion Diaz, Consuelo (+Gil) Puente both of San Benito and Celia Garcia of Houston, TX. 3 sons; Guadalupe (Viola) Diaz, Pasqual (Ernestina) Diaz and Porfirio (Carlota) Diaz all of San Benito. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren and one sister, Piedad Guerrero of San Benito. Visitation will begin on Monday, April 16, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 scheduled for 11 a.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church in El Ranchito, Texas followed by interment at the Esparza Family Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to her daughter, Concepcion for her selfless devotion towards her mother for so many years. "Our Deepest Graditude".
