Justino Casas, 96, of San Benito, Texas passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Our beloved uncle and brother set sail one last time on April 14, 2022. Born in Mcallen, Texas to Jesus Casas and Epimenia Perales. Tino served his country in The United States Navy during the WWII aboard the USS Signet on a minesweeper in Okinawa and the Pacific. After an Honarable discharge, he worked for over thirty years at Inland Steel in Chicago. Upon retirement he then returned to San Benito, Texas in 1985. Tino was well traveled. Visiting friends in Spain, attending the Olympics in Germany, or watching soccer matches in Argentina. Tino got to see boxing greats like Marciano, Sugar Ray Robinson and Ali. He lived a long, beautiful life. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Manuel, Bartolo and Jesus Jr.: brother in law; Alejandro “Cuco” Martinez. Tino is survived by his sister; Fidela Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5:00 p.m.-9 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2022 to begin at 1:00 pm at Mont Meta Memorial Park San Benito, Texas.
