San Benito, Texas -Maria De Jesus R. Ordaz, 66, surrounded by her loving family, was called upon by our heavenly father on Thursday, September 6, 2012. Maria was born in Monterrey, Mexico and at a very young age, moved to the U.S. where she resided in San Benito. Maria lived her life entirely for her very big, loving family. She taught her children how to love unconditionally, and always have trust in the Lord. Maria loved to fish, sing, and laugh. She had so much love and strength and was truly an inspiration to her family and friends. The world has lost a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, but the Lord has truly gained an angel. She will forever be missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Martin Ordaz; and eight children: Rafael Garcia, Maria Del Carmen Rodriguez, Cynthia Ordaz, Martin (Patricia) Ordaz Jr, Jesus (Chanoa) Ordaz, SFC Samuel (Ruth) Ordaz, Blanca (Matthew) Ordaz Molina, and Maricela (Anthony Mondragon) Ordaz. She had 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild that referred to her to as "Buela." Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in La Paloma. Committal service will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
