Josefina L. Carranco, our beloved mother and grandmother entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the age of 92 at the Weslaco Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Weslaco, Texas. Josefina was born March 19, 1930 in San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late Jeronimo & Maura Aguilar Leyja. She is preceded in death by her husband Refugio Carranco Morales, her parents Jeronimo & Maura Leyja, sisters; Maria Del Carmen Leyja, Blanca Guadalupe Leyja, Sara Leyja, and Margarita Guillen, and brother Benjamin Leyja, and great-grandson Jeremiah Ashton Garcia. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Blanca Estella (Omar) Carranco Guajardo and Maria Guadalupe (Santos) C. Garcia, and her sons, Patricio Carranco and Juan (Dahlia) Carranco, and Rudy (Mila) Granados. Sisters: Maria De Jesus Guardiola and Magdalena Leyja Aguilar, Brothers: Bernabe, Andres, and Carlos Leyja. Also left to cherish her memory are her 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Carranco Family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to family, friends, doctors, nurses, and prayer warriors for the physical and spiritual care of Josefina. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer and Service at 7:00 PM and Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
