Obituary of Dionicia Delgado Camacho

Dionicia Delgado Camacho, 82, of Port Isabel, TX passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.
At the age of 23, Dioncia married Roberto Camacho, Sr., her husband of 58 years.
She worked as a cook for Rovan’s Restaurant and Pirates Landing for many years. She was a member of Our Lady Star Sea Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas. She was a cancer survivor and was in remission for over 10 years. She loved going to family barbeques, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, weddings and quinceaneras. She was a great fan of the Port Isabel Tarpons and The Dallas Cowboys. One of her hobbies, since childhood, was sewing. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren & great grandchildren!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Encarnacion and Paula Delgado; brothers, Desiderio Delgado, Sr., Luis Delgado and Encarnacion Delgado, Jr.; sisters, Josephina Hambley and Maria Louisa Ewing; nephew, Barry Ewing; in-laws, Leonso and Lucia Camacho.
Left to cherish Dionicia’s memories are her husband, Roberto Camacho, Sr., daughters; Rosemary (Raul) Zamora, Patricia Ann Camacho and Laura Ann (Lee Andrew) Vasquez, Sr.; and son, Roberto (Virginia) Camacho, Jr.; grandchildren, Raul Zamora, Jr., Rose Eileen (Ricardo) Bella IV, Lee Andrew (Elida) Vasquez, Jr., Lauren Ashley and Leo Anthony Vasquez; great grandchildren, Damien Alexander, Ricardo V. and Kaleb Elidrick Bella.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S Longoria St, Port Isabel, TX. with cremation to follow in accordance to her wishes.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Raul Zamora, Robert Camacho, Jr., Lee Andrew, Vasquez, Sr., Raul Zamora, Jr., Lee Andrew Vasquez, Jr., and Leo Anthony Vasquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Damian Alexander Bella, Cecilio Barrientez Sr., Gilbert Delgado, and Rodolfo Garza.
All individuals attending services are encouraged to socially distance and wear face covers or masks.
