San Benito, TX. - Maria Elena (Nena) Nieto, 55, of San Benito,TX went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 2, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. She was a native of Brownsville and later resident of San Benito. She is Preceded in death by her loving husband Romualdo G. Nieto and her brother, Efrain Peralez Jr. She will be dearly missed by her immediate family, relatives and friends. She is survived by her parents, Efrain Peralez and Alicia G. Peralez; a brother, Patricio (Irma) Peralez; 5 sisters, Maria de Luz (Tony) Sanfilippo, Margarita P. (Miguel ) Medina, Alicia Peralez, Rosalida P. (Daniel) Saucedo, Viviana P. (Ruben) Amaro; a sister in law, Sylvia Y Peralez ; numerous nieces and nephews and a great grand niece and nephew; and numerous relatives. Visitation will be held today, September 04, 2012 at 11:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, TX. Committal Service will follow to San Benito City Cemetery in San Benito, TX.
