Martha Isella Mendoza (née Diaz), 55, of Brownsville, Texas passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. Martha was born on May 6, 1966, to Victorio and Virginia Diaz. Raised alongside her six siblings, Martha was known for her loyalty and devotion to them. Throughout her life, Martha grew to become a loving, kind, and generous person. She was known for the deep friendships that seemed easy for her to make. Her home was always a welcoming place to both friend and stranger. As a wife to Raul Mendoza, she was both devoted and supportive. As a mother to Luis Fernando, Raul Alejandro, and Erick, she was both caring and nurturing. To her nieces and nephews, she often served as a second mother and a safe harbor when things got difficult for them. Martha will be immensely missed but leaves behind the legacy of unconditional love, the importance of family, building relationships, and sharing joy. She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Diaz. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Raul Mendoza; 3 sons, Luis Fernando Reyes, Raul Alejandro Mendoza, and Erick Mendoza; siblings, Carmen Martinez, Ruben Diaz, Virginia de la Garza, Juan Diaz, Araceli Avila and Cristina Ferrari. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 09, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 11:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St, Port Isabel, TX. with cremation to follow in accordance to her wishes. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and face covers or masks are recommended.
