Mr. White is a perfect example of the many stories shared by my father and his siblings, as well as my grandparents, about their hometown (Brownsville) while growing up. When I learned that there was a connection to my generation, through Mr. White's son and my cousin, it was a quick reminder that family friends are so important as well as meaningful over many decades. In recent years, I enjoyed the visits with Mr. White during trips to South Padre Island...as well as the planning exercise of what should have been a joint graduation party in Aggieland for Austin with Kenny. I know he wanted that to happen, so maybe we should get it planned after all sometime soon! Rest In Peace, Mr. White...thanks for being such a great friend for many years to many in my family. We are grateful to you for giving us Austin -- I am certain that he will continue your legacy by doing a lot of good for a lot of people.

It was a honor to raise our sons together, and only to realize that "Cabby" had grown up with my family before I was born.
Another generation of life-long friends continue with Austin and Kenny. God brings us full circle. Rest in Peace, Larry.

“Cabby” and the White family were our next door neighbors growing up in the 60’s on Lima Linda St in Brownsville. My fondest memory was watching Cabby wade and play in the flood waters after Hurricane Beulah. When my brother and I asked our Mom if we could join him, she said “only if Cabby stays with you”. He did and we all had a blast!!! Thanks Cabby, RIP! Condolences to Austin and all the family. God bless!

I knew Larry as "Uncle Cabby". I spent more time with him when I was younger, but I have always had a warm place for him in my heart. He always seemed to be a light-hearted happy person, who's smile would light up a room. I probably never told him that I loved him, but I did.. He is truly missed..

Larry meant so much to me he taught me how to be a man and help me grow as a person inside and out , he stepped in when my father wasn’t there and treated me like his own son .he taught me how to fish and how to hunt and how to care for things as well how to treat other people when I was lost as a kid he was my father and had my back no matter what and was there for me if I ever needed anything . He used to love it when I called him larrwwwyy when I was a little boy and no matter what age I was he would still remind me of how I used to call him that and it ment the world to me .. I love you Larrwwwy
