Epifania Quezada, 88, of Elgin, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on April 7, 1933 in Mission Texas to her parents Nicolas & Dionicia (Palomo) Estrada.
Epifania Quezada was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was married to the late Armando Quezada, Sr. on March 22nd, 1954 and together, they had 11 children. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elgin, IL. for over 20 years.
Epifania and Armando retired and moved to San Benito, Texas in 1997 where she became a member at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito, TX. She enjoyed volunteering and donating her time at both churches.
She is preceded in death by her husband Armando Quezada, Sr., parents Nicolas and Dionicia Estrada, infant daughter Maria Veronica Quezada, son Nicolas Quezada, infant grandson Donald Lee and her loving sister Carmen Sauceda.
Left to cherish her memory are her five sons and four daughters, Armando (Julia) Quezada Jr. of Elgin, IL., Oscar (Wendy) Quezada of Wauconda, IL., Frank Quezada of Round Lake Park, IL., Maria Schumacher of Rockford, IL., Janie Davidson of South Elgin, IL., Rey (Terry) Quezada of Elgin, IL., Maria Clifton of Elgin, IL., Manny (Tomasa) Quezada of Elgin, IL., and Anna (Tommy) Childs of Elgin, IL., 25 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and her dear friend Lupita Garcia.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Combes St, San Benito, TX. with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and face covers or masks are recommended.
