Piedad Escalante, 96, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, with a loving daughter by her side in Los Fresnos, Texas. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Javier Escalante, her children Javier Jr., Mike, and Elvia Escalante. Piedad was also preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings, Maria, Catarino, Sarita, Augustina, Felicitas (Paulita), Ignacio, Lorenza, Juanita and Julia. Piedad is survived by her children, Amparo Escalante, Mardy Gonzales, Alfredo (Chuck) Escalante, Ana Escalante, Joel Escalante (Tammy), Alicia Blankenship (Kenneth), Abel Escalante (Noemi), and each of their families. Visitation will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Please join us in celebrating her life Saturday, January 8, 2022 with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 300 E Ocean Boulevard, Los Fresnos, Texas, 78566, followed by a burial at Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas. Pallbearers will be Efrin Escalante, Tony Escalante, Isidro Hernandez, Roy Gonzales, Alfredo Escalante Jr., Kobe Escalante, Paul Myers, and Nick Escalante. Honorary Pallbearers include Robert Garcia, Johnathan Coffey, and Tanner Escalante. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the love in celebrating their mother’s life.
