Eleazar Gonzalez, 79, of Los Fresnos, Texas passed away on December 27, 2021 at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen surrounded by his loving children. The oldest of 3 siblings, Eleazar was born on April 19, 1942 to Juan and Dominga Gonzalez in Rio Hondo, Texas. After graduating from Rio Hondo High School in 1959, he went on to serve our country in the Vietnam War and honorably discharged from the United States Army. Eleazar will be remembered for his laughter, quiet strength, work ethic, and his dedication to his family where he was determined to provide them with the lives he felt they deserved. Anyone who knew Eleazar knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Eleazar was predeceased by wives Dolores Gonzalez and Kim Gonzalez. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter; Veronica Pineda, son; Jaime (Joanna) Gonzalez, daughter; Andrea S. Rodriguez, sister; Maria Luisa Juarez, brother; Juan Gonzalez, grandchildren; Anthony Gonzalez and David Gonzalez. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX 78586. Graveside Service will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526 All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and face covers or masks are recommended.
