Obituary of Hector Escamilla, Jr.

Please share a memory of Hector to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hector Escamilla Jr., 41, of Harlingen, a faithful servant of Almighty God, was received into heaven on December 26, 2021. Hector was born to parents Mary Jane (Atkinson) and Hector Escamilla Sr. on March 18, 1980, in Harlingen, Texas. Hector was greeted in heaven by grandparents; Felipe and Adela Escamilla and Jose and Manuela Atkinson along with various other family members. After graduating from high school, Hector served in the Marine Corps from 1998-2002 where he became a Sergeant 1st Class. He graduated from Texas State Technical College in 2011 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Networking and Security Technology. He was employed at Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation where he provided IT support for all the offices in the lower Rio Grande Valley for the past six years. Hector met his wife Jennifer in 2016. After four months of dating, he married her. Their love story was truly written by God, and their love and devotion to one another only grew as time went on. Hector's heart was filled with the desire to serve God. He served as part of the media team, cleaning team, youth ministry, and also mowed the lawn for his church. He never wanted any kind of attention, and preferred to work behind the scenes giving all glory to God. Hector was an amazing person; husband, son, brother, but more importantly, he was a man who loved God with all his heart. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife, Jennifer Escamilla, and his two step children Jayden Sidney and Matthew Lugo, along with his parents, Hector Escamilla Sr. and Mary Jane Atkinson; siblings Lionel (Elsa) Escamilla, JoAnn Escamilla, and Edward Escamilla; nieces and nephews Frank Baltierrez, Carlos Baltierrez, Lylee Escamilla, Padme Escamilla, Emmalynn Escamilla, and Lionel Escamilla Jr. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
