Jose Sosa Garcia, 95, of Port Isabel, Texas, entered into eternal rest on December 13, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jose was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a devoted Catholic. He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Jose served his country in World War II and honorably discharged from the United States Army. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 72 years, Ruby Holland Garcia, a daughter, Ana Cora Garcia; and a son, Joe Henry Garcia; parents, Felix and Isabel Sosa Garcia. Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Eduardo (Esmeralda) Garcia, Noe (Yolanda) Garcia and Felix (Teresa Gail Appleton) Garcia; two daughters, Mary Ruby Gonzalez and Velma (Bob) Sandlin; 14 grandchildren, Eddie Garcia, Jr., Eric Garcia, Christopher Garcia, Derick Garcia, Andre O. Garcia, Monica L. Navarijo, Joseph G. Gonzalez, Michael A. Gonzalez, Rebekah “Bekah” Sandlin, Kevin Garcia, Byanka Garcia, Joe Henry Garcia, Jr., Izick R. Garcia and Richard Lee Garcia, Angelica Lizbeth Alavarez; 31 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law Hilda Cisneros Garcia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria Rd. in Port Isabel, TX on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow according to his wishes. Military honors will be conducted after the Funeral Mass by VFW Post 2035 of Brownsville, Texas.
